Announcing a new meeting for Murder Mysteries & More!

What: Murder Mystery Dessert Theatre Special Event

When: Friday, October 17, 8:00 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Who should come: Anyone who loves a great interactive murder mystery with dessert of course. This is a once a year special event not to be missed! Sounds like a great combination to me.

Why: Great group of friendly people in this Meetup! Audience participation, lots of laughs, and rave reviews.

Meeting Description: Ah... sweet suspicion!

Enjoy an evening of dessert and dastardly deeds as you become part of an interactive murder mystery. Eileen Moushey scripts the brain-twisting who-dun-its that will turn you into an amateur detective for the evening.
Which one of our guests will get his or her just desserts? Find out in October.

Missing it would be a crime...

Tickets: $20 per person, $30 per couple. On sale late August...this show will sell out early! You will be able to buy your tickets online and print them out. I will work on getting this set up as a group event so we can all sit together of course. Main issue as always will be to mention you are with the Meetup group.
Rest Assured: Online tickets are fast, easy, and secure.
All of our ticket orders are processed identically, whether taken via phone by a box office operator or entered in our online box office. The orders are processed over an extremely secure, highly encrypted internet connection, which is actually safer than handing your card to a waiter at a restaurant (something most of us do without thinking twice)

Box Office:
713-467-4497

Phone messages returned on weekdays 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Live box office assistance is limited. Online sales are faster and extremely secure.

About Country Playhouse

In early 1956 the Country Playhouse was founded by a group of hardworking individuals, all with one common interest; a love for theatre. Their first play was Personal Appearance by Lawrence Riley and was performed at memorial Drive Elementary School. Their first production made a profit of $112.

In 1958 the Playhouse relocated to the old Veteran's Hall on Katy Road. The place was an old abandoned church in a state of disrepair, but by 1960 the Playhouse had raked in profits of $6000 - enough to build their own building on the property. The barn-like structure of The Country Playhouse continued to delight audiences with performances until they were forced to move when their property was purchased by Joe Johnson, and is now part of Memorial City Mall.

In 1981, The Country Playhouse found its latest and greatest home across the street from Town & Country Mall and remains there today. Our Cerwinske Stage (named after charter members Herb & Alceste Cerwinske) holds a capacity crowd of 225 and our Black Box theatre provides a venue for entertainment ranging from cutting edge, commercial plays to live readings of original works, many of which go on to full production staging. The Playhouse holds adult and children's acting classes under the professional eye of Barbara Lasater.
